DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is an effective, alternative treatment for neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. Thin filiform needles are utilized to directly target and treat dysfunctions in muscle, fascia, and connective tissues.

Dry needling targets trigger points and areas where there are muscle adhesions. There is no down time after a session, and patients report an improvement in pain QUICKLY! This technique is performed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Not everyone is appropriate for dry needling, so give us a call today for a consultation!

GRASTON TECHNIQUE

Graston technique is a type of manual therapy utilizing specialized, stainless-steel tools (instruments) to gently massage and rub the skin in specific directions.  Light to moderate pressure is applied by hand using beveled instruments in sweeping motions directly on the skin.

When applied correctly, Graston helps break up scar tissue, fascial adhesions, myofascial restrictions, and mobilizes soft tissues such as ligaments and tendons.  This reduces pain, shortens healing time, and promotes better healing for injured soft tissues.

TMJ MANUAL RELEASE

TMJ manual release involves hands-on techniques aimed at relieving pain and dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint and surrounding muscles. These techniques include gentle manipulation, soft tissue massage, myofascial release, and joint mobilizations to improve jaw movement, reduce muscle tension, and alleviate discomfort. The goal is to restore normal jaw function, decrease pain, and enhance overall jaw mobility and comfort through targeted therapeutic interventions.

VERTIGO TREATMENT

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is treated effectively with canalith repositioning procedures, like the Epley or Semont maneuvers. These maneuvers aim to reposition calcium crystals in the inner ear, reducing vertigo triggered by head movements. Treatment is quick, safe, and often includes education and exercises to manage symptoms and promote recovery.

MANUAL THERAPY

Manual physical therapy involves hands-on techniques like joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, manual stretching, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy. These techniques aim to decrease pain, increase flexibility, and restore normal movement patterns by addressing restrictions in the fascia that can develop due to injury, overuse, or poor posture.

CUPPING

Cupping therapy involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction pulls the skin and superficial muscles upward, which is believed to increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and promote healing. It's used for treating muscle pain, inflammation, and improving circulation. Cupping leaves circular marks on the skin that fade after a few days.

KINESIOTAPING

Kinesiotaping uses elastic tape on the skin to support muscles and joints without limiting movement. It helps manage pain, improve performance, prevent injuries, and aid in lymphatic drainage. The tape mimics skin elasticity, providing support while allowing for natural motion.
